My day started in the Local Government Committee where we took Executive Action on five Bills with a"Do Pass” recommendation. The bills were SSB 5399, SB 5417, SSB 5444, ESSB 5656, and SB 5770.
In the Government Operations and Elections Committee meeting today we’re hearing two bills and may consider one bill for Executive Action. Substitute Senate Bill 5381 limiting the use of cellular devices by state employees.
Substitute Senate Bill 5679 to improve the business climate and stimulating job creation by requiring certain agencies to establish a formal review process of existing rules.
The last couple of weeks have been pretty slow here in Olympia, but I expect things to heat up over the next couple of weeks with policy and fiscal cutoffs on the horizon.
