September 13, 2011

[Resent id=12542195 2011-09-13 15:51:39 from davidtaylor] Well it's been a busy few days. Tiffany's volleyball season is in full swing and we spent roughly 9 hours in the gym in a hot, muggy gym on Saturday. The girls played good, but got pretty tired after a full day of games. On Sunday Nick Clark and I loaded out 7 tons of hay, while Robert went to Enumclaw to pick up cattle, then to Mossyrock to drop off cattle and then back to East Valley. Now I have a fairly full week of meetings, capped by the Joint Executive-Legislative Task Force on Tribal Retrocession on Friday in Toppenish.

I've been watching the Monastery Complex Fire outside Goldendale now for about a week. According to reports, the fire has burned about 4,250 acres with 50% containment, but don't expect to contain the fire until September 21st. There were quite a few homes destroyed so far and there's a chance a few more may be lost depending on what happens with the fire. Let's keep these folks in our prayers.

My truck still isn't working ... ugh! Ok, so we replaced the flywheel and got the transmission back aligned with the engine. Everything works fine, until we start to tighten the bolts attaching the transmission to the engine and then it binds up. I've got no idea what the problem could be, but I did get a few ideas from our friends at Carey Motors to try. We'll see what happens ... I just want my truck back.

Sunday marked the 10th anniversary of 9-11-01. Let us never forget those who gave all protecting the innocent victims. Good bless our first responders who keep us safe and our troops protecting this great country.
