We were called back to Olympia for another day on the House Floor waiting for the Democrat Majority to decide what they want to do. We were able to adopt a Resolution honoring Trooper Sean M. O'Connell Jr who was killed in the line of duty in May, but have done little else. There are only four bills on the Floor Calendar, so it could be a short day and we have no idea how long we’ll be here.
We ran the Capital Budget as amended to only address those projects passed over the last three biennia through re-appropriated funds. In other words, the projects contained in the amended Capital Budget have already been bonded and are on-going. Unfortunately, we have no idea where these projects are in the process or whether all of them have been started. The Capital Budget also includes millions of dollars for land purchases, yet we have no idea which of the purchases are pending, in process or simply on the state’s wish list. House Bill 1089 passed 83 to 10 with 4 excused.
And now we’re done for the day … amazing.
Appointed in 2009 to serve as 15th District State Representative and elected in 2009 to complete the term. David is working to return the Priorities of Government to Olympia.

April 26th - 2013 Regular Legislative Session Day 103
It’s Friday in Olympia and we have three days of Regular Session left. It is physically impossible to end the session on time, so Special Session will start Monday or shortly thereafter. As I’ve mentioned several times, this session has been very, very different and it has only gotten stranger over the past several days. We didn’t work last Friday, Saturday or Sunday (strange) and have been done around 4:00 PM every day this week. Typically, we’re running until 10:00 or 11:00 PM this time of year. The Democrat Majority is doing everything they can to make a show of acting busy … folks, we are not busy and they are wasting time and taxpayers money pretending to be. To top it all off, yesterday the Senate announced they were done and it was time for the Democrat Majority in the House to get their act together … the House Democrats response, gavel the day to an end. Ugh! I wonder if Olympia is nice in July.

2012 Regular Legislative Session Day 60 Sine Die
It’s Sine Die, the last day of the 2012 Regular Session. There’s still a slim chance of leaving this place on time and without a Special Session. A very slim chance. The Democrat Majority added 19 bills to the"Green Sheet” or Floor Calendar for today. I don’t know if they think they’ll run all of them, but there’s a chance they will try and roll right over us.
I’m looking forward to getting back to"God’s Country” sometime very soon. I’ve got a lot of things to do and work through when I get home, but at least I’ll be in a good place to do that.
So far I haven’t received an update on my Aunt, so please keep her in your prayers today.

2011 First Special Legislative Session
Day 22 - We're back in Olympia for what might be just for the day and evening, followed by being called back on Friday. Another ridiculous day with only 11 bills on the calendar ... great use of time and taxpayers money. It'll be interesting to see what exactly the Democrat Majority has in store for us today. My prediction, we'll run 6 or 7 bills and be done. We just finished Caucusing on four bills, three of which aren't even on the House Floor Calendar. We also heard that we will not be called back until next Tuesday. Second Special Session anyone?
I think I'm due for a long weekend ... Maybe a good time to head out on horseback or go fishing, something other than thinking about Olympia. We discussed taking a short cutting of hay in a couple of weeks, assuming the weather gets better, to try and get a fourth cutting this year. We'll have to wait and see what the forecast looks like.
Assuming I get home late tonight or early tomorrow, I'm hoping to get some fence and pens built. I need to mow the lawn, weed eat and spray, but only if the weather forecast stays good. We've got several people asking to lease calves, so we might be sorting calves this weekend.
