October 3, 2012

Morning all. It's been a long week and it's only Wednesday. Last night's wind storm was a crazy and moved weeds and debris around ... first task this morning is cleaning up around the place. We’re headed up the Okanogan County on Saturday to give a short property rights presentation during the Okanogan County Farm Bureau’s Annual Dinner. I’m really looking to it, people in the Okanogan have a very good understanding of property rights which should lead to great questions and discussion.

I’m proud to announce my recent A+ grade and endorsement from the National Rifle Association – PVF. Like him or not, Rick Santorum really summed up the importance of the 2nd Amendment when he said"the Second Amendment is there to protect the First Amendment!” You can check out the grades for all candidates around Washington State here ... www.nrapvf.org/grades-endorsements/2012/washington....aspx.

Off to work now ...

From the ash-heap of forgotten times, liberty rises against tyranny and fuels the flames of freedom.

2012 Regular Legislative Session Day 29

It’s been an interesting couple of days here in Olympia. I had an opportunity to meet with a couple of landowners have trouble with the Department of Ecology. Really no surprise there, but the depth of the problems are troubling and need to be dealt with. Hey DOE, here we come.

I have a fairly easy day today and am looking forward to seeing all of our Farm Bureau folks tonight at their reception. Tomorrow begins 4 or 5 days of floor action on a long list of bills. Right now we’re scheduled to be on the House Floor Saturday and Sunday. Looks like another weekend on the"wet” side of the state.

We have several bad bills on the sheet for possible action this week, so stay tuned for updates throughout the week.

2012 Regular Legislative Session Day 28

I spent another weekend in Olympia and haven’t seen God’s Country since January 6th. Tiffany’s volleyball team played in Seattle on Sunday and by the sounds of it, the girls played very well. They ended up taking second in the flight, which means they’ll be moving up to a new flight for the next tournament. Tiffany called me yesterday between games and told me she was playing like a"beast” ... I’m so proud of her!

I’ve got a couple of easy days this week, followed by endless Floor action at the end of the week. We’re scheduled to be on the House Floor Saturday and possibly Sunday too, so it could be a long week. There are a bunch of Republican ladies in town today and I’m going to go over to their function at noon. The Cattlemen are in town today also and the Farm Bureau are in town tomorrow ... it’s always good to see folks from home.

We’ve got calves hitting the ground everyday right now and I can’t wait to finally get home to see all of them. I’m going to have a lot of work to do this spring, but I can’t wait to get started.
